Senator McConnell Move Makes Rep. Ocasio-Cortez Look Foolish

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is starting to play hardball with Democrats, and they don’t like it one bit.

Rather than allowing a full debate, McConnell moved forward with a vote on Rep. Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal.

When the final votes were tallied, not a single Democrat voted in favor of the legislation.

Democrats Not Happy

To say Democrats were upset with this move by McConnell would be a massive understatement.

Senator Chuck Schumer absolutely blasted McConnell and Republicans for not allowing a full debate before the measure was voted on.

To dampen the sting of the legislation’s failure, AOC stated she told the Democrats to vote “present” instead of actually casting a vote.

Even so, four Democrats still voted against the legislation.

Before putting the Green New Deal up for a vote, McConnell stated, “I could not be more glad that the American people will have the opportunity to learn precisely where each one of their Senators stand on the “Green New Deal,” a radical, top-down, socialist makeover of the entire U.S. economy.”

Backing Off

When it became clear McConnell was going to move forward, AOC and her fellow Democrats went into defensive mode.

All of a sudden AOC’s new plan was meant to spur a debate, not go right to a vote.

AOC even accused the Republicans of showboating…

An unintentional side effect of the Green New Deal is the unification of the Republican party.

While AOC’s proposal is creating divide in her own party, Republicans have finally found some common ground, with even Trump’s enemies within the party now attacking the extreme platform of the Democrats.

This was a brilliant move by McConnell because it finally starts to expose the Democrat party for what it really is… socialist extremists that want to change the entire ideology and philosophy of our country.
