Texas Democrat Mayor Slams Congress on Immigration

It has finally gotten to the point Democrats themselves are fed up with their own party not helping to fix the horrific immigration problem in this country.

It easy for someone like Mayor de Blasio or Pete Buttigieg to rail against Trump and the Republicans on immigration, but their opinion, quite frankly, doesn’t matter.

What does matter is the opinion of a Democrat Mayor of a small border town in Texas that is being flat out overrun.

Del Rio, Texas Mayor Furious with Democrat Party

The man of which we speak is Bruno Lozano, the Democrat Mayor of Del Rio, Texas.

While attending a meeting with Senator John Cornyn (R-TX), Mayor Lozano went off about the lack of movement on immigration reform.

Lozano stated, “They need to see firsthand what’s going on.

“They need to understand the frustrations that the commissioners, or that the city council, the school board, the hospital officials are managing [and] having to deal with.

“We’re frustrated. We’re extremely frustrated.

“Our priorities on the city council are our streets, are our parks, are the economy, are the drive of the community and the places of worship and the places to have leisure activities.

“It is not the priority to solve immigration.”

“It is not our purview; it is not our jurisdiction.

“It is your job to ensure that you convey the frustration that I share with you all to ensure that our representatives at the federal level are hearing it.

“It’s falling on deaf ears, and we are tired of it. We are sick and tired of the deaf ears.”

Mayor Lozano of Del Rio addresses represenitives of U.S. Sen. John Cornyn and U.S. Rep. Will Hurd at a joint session of the City Council, Val Verde County and School District.

Hit Hard

Contrary to the rosy picture Democrats paint, Del Rio has been hit particularly hard by the illegal immigrant flow over the border.

According to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency, more than 500 people immigrating illegally from African countries have been apprehended in the Del Rio Sector since May 30.

When you consider that Del Rio only has about 36,000 residents, that is a pretty significant problem.

Small towns like Del Rio are the real victim and while we all can empathize with the problem, we need our representatives to actually do something about the problem.

Dems must put people like the citizens of Del Rio first and prioritize their needs over those that are breaking laws to get into this country, and often breaking our laws once they get here.
