Biden’s relaxed immigration rules have presented quite the problem for the Texas border.
This is not partisan opinion or conspiracy, but a hard fact.
Now, Abbott is going after the man that created the problem… Joe Biden.
Joe’s Fault
Abbott did not hold back on the problem at the border specifically being Joe Biden’s doing.
He stated, “It is a self-inflicted wound because going back to what the Border Patrol officers told me themselves, they informed the Biden administration about this all along, and the Biden administration has known exactly what was going to happen if they refuse to continue to implement the policies that were previously in place.”
Abbott went on to rip Biden over revoking the “Remain in Mexico” policy and the fact the White House continues to call this a “challenge” rather than the crisis it is.
He stated, “These two policy changes is what has led to the influx that we’ve seen.
“One is the elimination of the ‘Remain in Mexico’ protocol.
“And that is what was suddenly allowed so many people to come back in.
“And the other is the policy of if people do come across the border, they will be returned to whatever country they came from.”
Give Us Supplies
Abbott also slammed Biden for the fact Border Patrol is not even getting its officers vaccinated.
The Texas Governor stated, “What I am about to tell you may be one of the most reprehensible things I’ve heard this whole time.
“The Biden Administration is not providing vaccinations for the Border Patrol.”
“We have Border Patrol [agents] whose lives are on the line of a daily basis — an hourly basis — and the Biden Administration will not provide those Border Patrol [agents] with the vaccinations they need.
“The Biden Administration should surge vaccines to Texas to all men and women on the Border Patrol this week.”
He continued, “They should be provided a vaccine by the federal government.
“The federal government has made a priority of vaccinating other federal government employees that are not on the front line like the Border Patrol.
“And that’s why I have this expectation that the Border Patrol agents, who are on the front line, be treated like other federal employees that have already been vaccinated by the federal government.”
And, of course, he is right.
Members of Congress, all of whom live in their little protective bubble, have all had access to vaccinations yet our front line workers are dealing with migrants who probably have a better chance of being infected than not, have still not been given the vaccine.
It’s a disgrace, there is simply no other way to look at it.
