‘The Batman’ Star Robert Pattinson Tests Positive for COVID-19

One of the more anticipated movies of the year is going back in the can for a little bit.

“The Batman,” a far darker take on Batman than we have probably ever seen, has been put on hold.

Production Shut Down

Earlier this week, news broke that the production of the movie had been shut back down after only recently resuming.

The movie had already gone through one shut down when the pandemic first hit in March.

Pattinson, according to a recent report in Variety, has now been confirmed as the cast member that caused this most recent shutdown.

Darker Batman

While some Batman movies have been dark, they have hardly captured the essence of this character portrayed in the illustrated novels.

Fans were hoping, after seeing the trailer, that the “real” Batman would come to life on the big screen this year during the Christmas movie blitz…

With Pattinson now in quarantine, assuming he recovers, the movie is going to be pushed back even further.

It is estimated that the film still has about three months of shooting to do, so we probably will not see the movie in theaters until next spring or early summer.
