We are seeing some rather disturbing numbers over the last few days that are being classified as coronavirus deaths.
I have been wondering for days, considering the majority of people that are dying have pre-existing health conditions, how many of them are truly due to the coronavirus.
On Tuesday, both Dr. Birx and Dr. Fauci admitted that anyone who dies right now that has tested positive is being classified as a COVID-19 death.
Dr. Birx admitted that the reporting on the deaths has been “very liberal,” but this could be creating a bit of an over-exaggeration of the actual deaths caused by coronavirus.
Dr. Birx stated, “There are other countries that if you had a pre-existing condition, and let’s say the virus caused you to go to the ICU [intensive care unit] and then have a heart or kidney problem.
“Some countries are recording that as a heart issue or a kidney issue and not a COVID-19 death.
“The intent is … if someone dies with COVID-19, we are counting that.”
Dr. Fauci echoed a similar sentiment when he took the microphone during Tuesday’s press conference.
He stated, “I can’t imagine if someone comes in with coronavirus and goes to an ICU, and they have an underlying heart condition and they die, they are going to say cause of death heart attack.
“I cannot see that happening. So, I don’t think it’s going to be a problem.”
Wait… what?!
If we are to understand what both are saying, regardless of the actual cause of death, if they have coronavirus symptoms, the deaths are all being classified as coronavirus deaths.
Now, if you take into consideration that most of the people now dying are older, with significant underlying conditions, this is a pretty big deal, especially considering the numbers we are being given daily.
Classifying deaths this way could severely skew the numbers and blow this entire pandemic out of proportion.
Now, if the coronavirus aggravated the condition and caused the heart attack, I would understand that, but just blanket classifying every death as a coronavirus, which his how I understand what they are saying, is pretty ridiculous.
The sad fact is that we will probably never know the truth due to the fact autopsies are not happening with regularity now in the hardest-hit areas due to the significant amount of deaths.
Dr. Michael Baden stated, “In the normal course, autopsies would then determine whether the person died of the effects of the COVID virus, whether the person had a brain tumor or brain hemorrhage for example that might be unrelated to it and what the relative significance of both the infection and the pre-existing disease is.”
Considering the significance of these numbers and the fact millions of Americans are now out of work and tens of thousands of small business owners are hanging by a thread, it would be nice to get exact numbers and not “liberal” death counts that could be dramatically skewed and exaggerate the deadliness of this virus.
