Once again, a Trump insider has put another crack in the foundation of this presidency.
This time, it was one of Vice President Mike Pence’s aides.
Jennifer Williams, who serves as a special adviser to Mike Pence, told the House committee behind closed doors that the Ukraine phone call “struck me as unusual and inappropriate.”
Betrayed Again
If the name on this investigation was anything but Biden, nobody would have a problem with it.
Everyone is looking at this as though it is an investigation for political advantage rather than investigating a former White House official that possibly used his power and influence to help his son.
I would think considering the fact Joe Biden is a presidential candidate, the American people have a right to know if Biden did anything wrong.
In addition to the comment mentioned above, Williams also stated, “I believe I found the specific references to be more specific to the President in nature, to his personal political agenda, as opposed to … a broader foreign policy objective of the United States.
“I guess, for me, it shed some light on possible other motivations behind a security assistance hold.”
But We Already Know…
The really shocking thing for me is that people in this administration do not seem to be able to get on the same page as to why this money was withheld in the first place.
Several officials both within the administration, as well as within Congress, have already gone on the record to say they did not want the money to be disbursed until they were assured President Zelensky was on the up and up.
Considering the history of corruption in Ukraine, this seems like true prudence rather than personal motivation by Trump.
It should also be noted that Williams initially testified that Trump was the first one to mention Burisma, but it was actually Zelensky that brought it up first.
Williams is scheduled to testify in public hearings on Tuesday.
This is also interesting in that Rep. Schiff (D-CA) is getting testimony behind closed doors of every witness to ensure he will get the testimony he wants to hear in public rather than just calling witnesses for the public hearings.
This is just more proof that Schiff is more interested in a rigged hearing than he in conducting a fair one.
If he were, he would not have shot down the bulk of, if not all of, the witness list submitted by Republicans.
