Trump Administration Handed HUGE Immigration Victory by Supreme Court

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court handed down a decision that is going to haunt Democrats.

The Supreme Court has permitted the “Remain in Mexico” policy to be enforced while the case continues to play out in the lower courts.

Massive Win for Trump

Currently, the administration is fighting the battle to enforce this policy in the lower courts.

The policy would require those seeking asylum to remain in Mexico until the appellate court makes its final decision.

The suspension of this program was due to take effect tomorrow, but the Supreme Court ruling overrides that mandate from the lower court.

This is a good sign of things to come for the Trump administration if the administration loses its appeal and takes the case to SCOTUS.

Officially, the policy is called the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP).

The MPP was implemented about a year ago and since then, there are an estimated 60,000 immigrants who have applied for asylum that currently remain Mexico.

As you may recall, the policy was put in place specifically due to border facilities being overwhelmed.

That crisis has since waned, proving the new policy worked.

The initial policy was stopped in the lower courts, but the appellate court narrowed its scope to its jurisdiction, only allowing the injunction to apply to both Arizona and California.

Turning the Tide

This is now the second major immigration battle Trump has won in the long and never-ending fight against Democrats on immigration.

Again, even though this is not a SCOTUS ruling on the case, the fact the court is allowing this policy to remain in place shows there is enough support on the Supreme Court to uphold the policy if the administration is defeated in the lower and appellate courts.
