Trump Cabinet Member Targeted by Dems Over Epstein Case

While most of the initial coverage against pedophile Jeffrey Epstein was targeted against Bill Clinton, the tide is quickly changing.

In yet another effort to undermine President Trump, Democrats are demanding Labor Secretary Alex Acosta resign.

Acosta was the U.S. Attorney in Miami that oversaw the 2008 plea deal with Jeffrey Epstein.

Coming Under Attack

No sooner has the arrest of Epstein been announced when Democrats started looking for ways to hurt the Trump administration.

Epstein has been a skeleton in the closet of Alex Acosta ever since he inexplicably reached a plea deal with the known pedophile in 2008.

At the time of the deal, it was assumed Epstein had used his many high-profile contacts to avoid any serious jail time.

He would eventually serve 13 months in prison as well as serving time under house arrest.

At the time of the initial indictment, Epstein faced dozens of allegations.

When the plea deal was reached, however, the court records were sealed.

Epstein was a known ally of Bill Clinton as well as Clinton taking numerous trips on Epstein’s plane.

Some of those trips were rumored to have been to the now infamous “Orgy Island,” where Epstein allegedly had underage girls at the ready for his guests.

Defending Himself

Why Acosta let Epstein off the hook so easily is just rumor, but Acosta attempted to do damage control be immediately releasing a statement today via Twitter.

President Trump has also offered support of Acosta but stated he will also have his team look into the handling of the case.

Trump stated, “I do hear that there were a lot of people involved in that decision, not just him.

“I can only say this from what I know.

“And what I do know is that he’s been a really great secretary of labor.

“The rest of it, we’ll have to look at, we’ll have to look at it very carefully.

“But you’re talking about a long time ago and it was a decision made I think not by him but by a lot of people.

“So, we’re gonna look at it very carefully.

“We’ll be looking at it very carefully. OK?”

Trump also addressed the rumors he and Epstein had a personal relationship.

The President stated, “I knew him like everybody in Palm Beach knew him. People in Palm Beach knew him.

“He was a fixture in Palm Beach.

“I had a falling out with him a long time ago.

“I don’t think I’ve spoken to him for 15 years. I wasn’t a fan. I was not- yeah, a long time ago. I’d say maybe 15 years. I was not a fan of his. That I can tell you. I was not a fan of his.

“So, I feel very badly for actually for Secretary Acosta because I’ve known him as being somebody that works so hard and has done such a good job. I feel very badly about that whole situation. But we’re going to be looking at that and looking at it very closely.”

Be prepared for Dems to use this against Trump to once again attack his judgment of his cabinet members.

While turnover in an administration is fairly common, Trump’s turnover rate has been higher than usual during his first two years.

Every time someone leaves a position, Democrats use that as a way to attack Trump, but this one particular case could be far more damaging.

The next couple of days will be key to limiting damage and will largely depend on what information comes out regarding Epstein’s relationships with high-profile Democrats.

As bad as this seems for Acosta and Trump right now, it could quickly turn into a complete debacle for Democrats.

It is very likely someone in the Democrat party that is railing against Epstein and Acosta right now was actually a fixture at Epstein’s parties, so stay tuned.
