Trump Suffers Major Setback from Supreme Court Ruling

President Trump was just handed a major gut shot by the Supreme Court he helped hand pick.

In a very surprising decision, the Supreme Court ruled to not hear the case to add a 2020 Census question specifically clarifying citizenship status within household members.

Shock Ruling

The fact the court is still deferring to lower courts on this matter gives a reason for hope, but Trump definitely thought this was a slam dunk case for the Supreme Court.

In his ruling, Justice Roberts stated, “Neither respondents nor my colleagues have been able to identify any relevant, judicially manageable limits on the Secretary’s decision to put a core demographic question back on the census.”

He added, “The evidence tells a story that does not match the explanation the [Commerce] Secretary gave for his decision.

“In the Secretary’s telling, Commerce was simply acting on a routine data request from another agency.

“Yet the materials before us indicate that Commerce went to great lengths to elicit the request from DOJ (or any other willing agency).”

The fact that Roberts continues to side with the liberal side of the court is just mind boggling to conservatives.

Trump Administration Furious

Needless to say, the entire administration was both shocked and upset about the decision.

Kelly Laco, spokesperson for the Department of Justice stated, “The Department of Justice will continue to defend this administration’s lawful exercise of executive power.”

President Trump also expressed his disdain for the ruling in a tweet…

Trump is now hoping to delay the census with further legal action.

One of the major issues that concern the President in the fact these census answers are used to draw political lines.

Since illegals are not permitted to vote, it only makes sense we account for the actual legal residents in any given home.

Now, though, if the census goes out as is, illegal numbers will be factored in because their actual legal status will be unknown with the questions currently on the census.

As far as Trump is concerned, the census, without this question, “would be meaningless and a waste of the $Billions (ridiculous) that it costs to put it together!”
