Trump to Suspend Immigration During Coronavirus Recovery

Whenever our country reopens, it will do so with more than 10 million people, at least, out of work.

In order to make sure Americans and legal citizens go back to work before anyone else comes to the country to take jobs, Trump announced that he wants to temporarily halt immigration into the United States.

Brilliant Move

Whether anyone wants to admit this or not, Trump is making a brilliant play here that is going to go a long way to help him get re-elected.

Trump announced the decision via Twitter, stating, “In light of the attack from the Invisible Enemy, as well as the need to protect the jobs of our GREAT American Citizens, I will be signing an Executive Order to temporarily suspend immigration into the United States!”

The executive order has not yet been drafted, but we can expect Trump to put his signature on it right away as well as it being contested by Democrats and immigration advocacy groups.

When the order is fought, win or lose, Trump comes out of this looking like the good guy for every out-of-work American.

Why It Works

This shutdown was forced on Americans and they have every right to be the first people back in line to get jobs once the economy re-opens.

Once the pandemic is under control and travel bans are lifted, however, what would happen if immigrants started coming here for work?

The answer is simple… people that could not find work in their own country would then be taking jobs away from Americans that lost their jobs due to the shutdown.

I have nothing against legal immigration at all, but we need to get the people that were working back to work before we allow more people to come into this country solely to find work.

Anyone that fights this concept will be considered anti-worker, so it benefits Trump to have Democrats fight him on this tooth and nail.

Come November, Americans who are out of work are going to remember the person that stood for them and their jobs as well as those who tried to allow others to come into this country to take their jobs.

It doesn’t matter what side of the aisle you are on to see who people would stand behind in that scenario.
