Trump Wins Major Case Against Democrats on Appeal

One of the cases that Democrats were hanging their hat on was the emoluments clause case, insisting Trump’s business interests were unfairly benefitting from Trump’s presidency.

Earlier today, at the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, the three-judge panel ruled the case brought on by Democrats had no legal standing to bring this suit against President Trump.

Sorry Dems

One of the things that hurt the case was that “only” 251 members of Congress joined the lawsuit.

Since this was not a majority, the court ruled the case was not valid.

The ruling stated, “[O]nly an institution can assert an institutional injury.

“Here, regardless of rigor, our conclusion is straightforward because the members — 29 senators and 186 members of the House of Representatives — do not constitute a majority of either body and are, therefore, powerless to approve or deny the president’s acceptance of foreign emoluments.”

Unprecedented Ground

The problem for Dems is they are dealing with a case of a president that is unprecedented in our history.

Other presidents have owned businesses when moving into the White House, but not the types of businesses Trump owns.

Additionally, because Trump had a leadership structure in place with his sons, he did not need to put the business into a blind trust.

History, however, is on the side of Trump here.

The fact of the matter is that the government was doing significant business with Trump hotels prior to Trump ever running for president.

Since he has been office, those hotels are obviously not going to stop doing business.

Additionally, the hotels, as far as we know, have not raised their rates, they are respecting government rates, and have even given price breaks at times that were far below rack or government rates.

Trump has even offered to do some government conferences free of charge, but he was warned off this simply because of the optics.

This is nothing more than another failed chapter in the Democrat coup to have Trump removed from office, and it failed miserably.

Needless to say, Trump was ecstatic when the ruling came in, stating, “It was a total win.”

There are still numerous cases looming but right now, this was a truly epic week for Trump.
