U.K. Ambassador Who Bashed Trump is Out

Just days ago, emails from U.K. ambassador Sir Kim Darroch were leaked to the media, resulting in Trump saying the U.S. would not work with the ambassador again.

On Wednesday, Darroch’s time as the U.K. ambassador came to an end, with Darroch announcing his resignation from the post.

The U.K. Foreign and Commonwealth Office has confirmed Darroch’s departure.

The Leak

How and why the emails were leaked remains to be seen, but there are more than a few conspiracy theories out there.

The most popular of these now is that BREXIT leader Nigel Farage may have somehow orchestrated the entire event to help his BREXIT movement.

The woman that covered the story for the Daily Mail, Isabel Oakeshott, is a noted backer of the BREXIT movement.

She also happens to be firmly in Nigel Farage’s corner.

Farage is a major supporter of Trump and no doubt very grateful of the fact then-candidate Trump openly supported the Farage BREXIT movement.

Regardless of how and why, though, the only thing the emails served to do was have Darroch removed from his post.

Trump’s Twitter tirade after the memos were leaked no doubt played a large part in Darroch deciding to step down.

Sir Kim stated, “The current situation is making it impossible for me to carry out my role as I would like.

“Although my posting is not due to end until the end of this year, I believe in the current circumstances the responsible course is to allow the appointment of a new ambassador.”

Even as bad as the situation appears now, though, British Diplomat Simon McDonald believes it will all pass soon enough.

He stated, “This is not the first time a British ambassador has left post or resigned because of actions against the host government, but usually they are governments with whom we have problematic relations, rather than friendly relations.

He further added the relationship between the U.S. and the U.K is “so deep and so wide that it will withstand any individual squall.”

Clearly, though, the U.K. will need to get someone in place that can work with this administration, which will be another feather in the cap of Farage and his BREXIT movement.
