[VIDEO] Trump Clashes with Telemundo Reporter on Immigration

José Díaz-Balart did everything he could to lure Donald Trump into a fight during a recent interview for Telemundo… and Trump obliterated him.

Díaz-Balart’s tone was obviously confrontational, but Trump just kept hitting him with facts and policy to destroy him during the interview (full video at bottom of this article).

Tough on Immigrants

One of the most contentious segments of the interview was when Díaz-Balart accused Trump of being tough on immigrants.

President Trump was quick to point out the fact that Díaz-Balart had forgotten to use the word “illegal.”

Trump then went on to lecture the Telemundo host about his rising support within the Hispanic community.

Trump was adamant he wants immigrants to continue to come into the country, but they must do it legally.

Díaz-Balart tried to hammer Trump on child separation, a policy that was actually put in place by the Bush administration.

Trump had no problem reminding Díaz-Balart he inherited these policies and this mess while also pointing out it was the Obama administration that actually built the cages we see in the media.

Tough on DREAMers

Díaz-Balart tried desperately to goad Trump into a battle over the DREAMers.

Once again, though, Trump won the joust.

Even against the wishes of his base, Trump has been willing to offer amnesty to DREAMers as part of an overall immigration reform bill.

However, as Trump stated, Pelosi and Schumer refuse to negotiate on the matter.

It is all or nothing for them, and that is simply something Trump cannot do, because his base would show up at the White House with a hangman’s noose.

Tough on Mexico

Díaz-Balart tried to portray the deal with Mexico as pushing off our “dirty work” on the Mexican government.

He completely ignores the fact these massive caravans are crossing through Mexico to assault our border.

Trump, again, won the exchange by discussing the deal that he just put in place and how Mexico is finally putting in an effort to stop the immigration problem at the border, something they should have been doing all along.

This, as Trump stated, is not the U.S.’s dirty work but rather Mexico’s actual job, especially considering the fact we are supposed to be cherished allies.

After briefly discussing the upcoming election and Trump’s possible opponents, Díaz-Balart took one more shot at the President but came up short… again.

Díaz-Balart asked Trump, “Do you sleep well,” making the clear accusation Trump should be bothered by his own policies.

Trump stated, “I don’t have much time to sleep. Fortunately, I’ve never been a big sleeper, in terms of hours, but I sleep fine. I mean I sleep very good.”

Game, set, match… Trump!
