White House Suspends Press Credentials of Confrontational Playboy/CNN Reporter

After CNN political analyst and Playboy reporter Brian Karem almost got into a fistfight in the Rose Garden a couple of weeks ago, many were shocked he was still allowed to cover the White House.

That situation has now been rectified, as Karem was notified on Friday afternoon that his press credentials for the White House have been suspended for 30 days.

Going After Sarah

This is not Karem’s first run-in with controversy while he has been covering the Trump administration.

When the story of child separation at the border first broke, Karem was the one shouting at Sarah Sanders from the back of the room.

He called her out over the separations, questioning how she could defend the policy when she herself was a mother.

After his outburst, several members of the press even stated that he had crossed the line and owed Sanders an apology.

Challenging Gorka

Karem’s latest spat happened during a Rose Garden press conference on July 11.

After hosting a social media summit, the invitees were out in the Rose Garden for a photo-op.

As the session was breaking up, Karem accused the summit attendees, who were all conservatives, of being a “group of people that are eager for demonic possession.”

Gorka took offense to the insult to the invited guests, stating, “You’re a journalist, right?”

Karem then openly challenged Gorka, stating “C’mon over here and talk to me brother.

“We can go outside and have a long conversation.”

The implication was clear in that Karem would have been more than happy to mix it up with Gorka.

Gorka immediately came over to confront Karem and called him a “punk.”

Tempers between the two flared and eventually Secret Service had to step in to separate the two men.

Karem has stated he will appeal the decision, which means another likely court battle for the administration.

The White House is 100 percent right on this issue, though, regardless of how some judge eventually rules in the case.

Karem is disrespectful and carries himself as though he is arguing politics at the corner saloon rather than a member of the White House press corps.
