Bombshell Document Proves Steele Dossier Politically Motivated Attack

Buried deep inside protected memos was a bombshell that was just waiting to be set off.

A memo revealing the context of a meeting between then-Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Kathleen Kavalec and Christopher Steele proves the dossier was actually a political hit piece that needed to be released before election day.

The Meeting

Kavalec and Steele met on October 11, 2016.

That meeting was less than two weeks before the FBI used the dossier to secure FISA warrants against Donald Trump’s adviser Carter Page.

Within the memo, Kavalec states that Steele’s client “is keen to see this information come to light prior to November 8.”

The memos were uncovered through a freedom of Information Act request by the Citizens United group.

The FBI purposely hid these documents during House investigations into the probe.

Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) stated, “They tried to hide a lot of documents from us during our investigation, and it usually turns out there’s a reason for it.”

The FBI continues to try to protect this information, reclassifying it as classified, even though it originally went into the books as unclassified.

Protecting the Agency

The really disturbing fact here is this document was marked classified after Christopher Wray took over as head of the FBI.

The top brass in the agency continues to protect the agency from being exposed to have done anything wrong during the initial stages of the FBI launch of the Russia probe.

Earlier today, Senator Graham (R-S.C.) stated that he would be working very hard this week to get some documents that had been marked classified to unclassified, and this may be one of those documents.

After Wray changed the classification of the memo on April 25, 2019, all the juicy information that revealed the confession from Steele had been redacted, with only a few sentences remaining visible in the document.

When you take his meeting into account with texts between Agent Strzok and Lisa Page, where they were obviously trying push through the FISA warrants, it does not paint a very flattering picture for Comey’s FBI.

We would hope with all the negative attention the FBI has received as of late, Wray would be transparent, but this does appear to be yet another attempt by high-ranking members of the FBI to cover-up the actions of James Comey.
