DOJ Announces Release of Mueller Report

The long-awaited release of the Mueller report has finally been made official.

On Monday the Department of Justice announced that Attorney General Barr will be releasing the Mueller report to both the public and Congress on Thursday.

The Mueller Report

After roughly two years, Robert Mueller and his team wrapped up the investigation into collusion between President Trump’s campaign and the Russians.

Much as we expected, Robert Mueller completely exonerated Trump of any wrongdoing in regard to the collusion allegations.

Making matters even worse for the Democrats was the fact that Mueller concluded there was not enough evidence to bring charges against Trump for obstruction of justice either.

After all, it is hard to obstruct justice for collusion when there actually was no collusion.

Several days after the report was released to the Justice Department, Barr released a summary report that frustrated Democrats.

Within hours, Democrats were calling for the release of not only an unredacted version of the Mueller report but also all supporting documentation.

The Release

Kerri Kupec, a Justice Department spokesperson, told Fox News on Monday Barr will be releasing a redacted version of the report to both lawmakers and the public on Thursday.

This will no doubt infuriate Democrats even more, as they were demanding a full release of the report.

Barr has the law on his side here, though, as he is under no obligation to release the entirety of the document to them as certain parts of it are protected.

For instance, under no circumstances is grand jury testimony to be revealed publicly.

Congress has already proven it is incapable of protecting classified information and we all know if there is even a small thread in that report, Democrats will make sure it gets out to the public.

Whether or not Barr plans on giving Congress an unredacted version of the report or the supporting documents remains to be seen.

However, if there is one thing we have learned about Barr from his brief time in office, it is that he will not bow to pressure or be pushed around by Democrat leadership.
