Something truly remarkable is happening in the universe right now.
First Jim Acosta and Joe Scarborough gush over Trump for his D-Day speech, now MSNBC’s Chris Matthews shreds Nancy Pelosi for threatening to send Trump to prison.
Some Common Sense Outrage
Earlier this week, word leaked out that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) wasn’t worried about impeaching Trump because she wanted to send him to prison.
President Trump played the game perfectly, allowing the media to go after her before he even said anything.
And go after her they did.
One of the first media members to attack her was Alan Dershowitz.
He stated, “You can’t just target a president and say we want to see him in prison without producing evidence.”
He further stated, “I have to tell you, as a liberal Democrat, I’m appalled at Nancy Pelosi.
“The idea of her weaponizing the criminal justice system — and calling for the imprisonment of the president of the United States without him being charged with any crime, without him being charged with any impeachable offense — it’s just outrageous,”
Also expressing concern was MSNBC’s Chris Matthews.
Matthews despises Trump and I honestly cannot remember a positive word regarding Trump having ever come out of his mouth since Trump was elected.
However, on this issue, he was clearly on Trump’s side.
Matthews stated, “Now the Speaker of the House is saying [Trump] ought to be in prison.
“Imagine that you live in some rinky-dink country out in the world that has always looked up to ours.
“You know, some fourth-world country, doesn’t even have democracy.
“And here we have the leader of the opposition, saying the other guy ought to be in prison.
“This is the stuff we used to see in Pakistan in the old days.
“Defeat the guy, then hang him.”
Put Up or Shut Up
Pelosi and her fellow Democrats have been crying about a cover-up and are now implying Trump has done far worse.
What they are not doing, however, is acting on this alleged information.
Clearly, if they thought they had the evidence to go after Trump, they would do it.
Instead, they are putting off action and blaming it on the uneducated citizen.
This is the epitome of political theater and it now appears even liberals are getting a little sick and tired of their games.
This is setting the 2020 elections up perfectly for Republicans and at this point, it hard to imagine anything other than a sweeping victory for the Republicans in the next election.
Pelosi and her fellow Democrats have dug themselves a significantly deep crater and we just don’t see a way out at this point.
