May Border Numbers Released… and It’s VERY Bad

Donald Trump’s deal with Mexico to curb illegal immigration is apparently coming in the nick of time.

The United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) just released its May numbers and they are far worse than expected.

According to the report, illegal immigration increased by a whopping 32 percent over the record-breaking April numbers.

Staggering Numbers

In all honesty, nobody thought the immigration numbers could get much worse than they were in April.

However, with ongoing efforts by Democrats to legalize illegal immigration, migrants continued to flood our southern border.

The CBP stated that had 144,000 encounters with illegal immigrants.

This was the biggest total the agency has seen for one month in 13 years.

May also marked the third consecutive month of at least 100,000 illegals trying to cross the border.

Of those 144,000, the agency stated that 132,000 were illegal border crossers, while the additional 12,000 had presented at the legal port of entry.

The agency also stated that more than 100,000 of the illegals came from the Northern Triangle of El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras.

Most of those crossing were traveling as a family unit, with 84,000 claiming family status.

A total of 36,000 were single adults and 11,000 were traveling as unaccompanied minors.

The agency stated if the current numbers remain consistent, we will surpass the 2006 levels.

Just in Time

On Friday night, President Trump announced he had reached an agreement with Mexico to address the illegal crossings.

Mexico will be deploying its National Guard throughout the country to cutoff these large groups.

Had Mexico not agreed to Trump’s deal, the country would have faced escalating tariffs until it did meet his demands.

While Republicans, even though most did not support Trump’s approach, celebrated the deal, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer actually mocked the President .

Additionally, Beto O’Rourke blamed the influx of illegal crossing on Trump.
