It has become painfully clear who the gaggle of Democrat candidates believes to be their main competition.
Biden had not been in the race for 24 hours when Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren took some vicious shots at the twice-failed presidential candidate and former Vice President.
Apparently, they did not get the memo that Biden’s character is untouchable in this race.
Warren Hits First
Elizabeth Warren did her best Rambo impersonation by drawing first blood.
Warren hit Biden in an area where it will be hard to wiggle his way out… his ties to Wall Street and the banking debacle.
Senator Warren stated, “At a time when the biggest financial institutions in this country were trying to put the squeeze on millions of hard-working families who were in bankruptcy because of medical problems, job losses, divorce, and death in the family, there was nobody to stand up for them.
“I got in the fight because they just didn’t have anyone.
“And Joe Biden was on the side of the credit card companies.”
The Progressive Change Campaign Committee (PCCC), which has already thrown its support behind Warren also got into the fight.
The co-founder of PCCC, Adam Green, stated, “With billionaires deciding not to run, progressive candidates have been in need of a foil.
“Joe Biden positions himself as the political insider from yesteryear who says big ideas like universal child care, student debt relief, and a wealth tax on ultra-millionaires are not possible, he would be an easy foil.”
Bernie Hits Next
The day was not over for Biden, as Senator Bernie Sanders also decided to take a few jabs as the fresh meat in the race.
Word traveled quickly that Biden was spending his first night of the race begging for money from mega-donors and lobbyists.
Sanders, who says he does not take that “dirty” money, stated, “It’s a big day in the Democrat primary and we’re hoping to end it strong.
“Not with a fundraiser in the home of a corporate lobbyist, but with an overwhelming number of individual donations in response to today’s news.”
Sanders was referring to a private fundraiser being held by Daniel Hilferty (you can read more about that here).
Things are going to get worse before they get better for Biden.
While the Democrat party makes him out to be the savior of the party in this underwhelming field of candidates, Biden has some serious skeletons in his closet.
Remember how every candidate in the primary went after Trump in 2016? Well, Joe is about to get the same treatment.
