President Donald Trump wants to make it tougher in immigrants to be granted asylum and Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) is more than happy to oblige him.
Graham stated, “We have to change our laws so these people stop coming.”
The Border Crisis
The crisis at our southern border is only getting worse with each passing day.
We went from having 1,000 people a day to instances of more than 4,000 people being apprehended.
If authorities are catching that many, how many are actually getting through?
Graham believes we need to do more than just work on changing the laws right now, however.
The senior Senator from South Carolina stated, “If I were the President, I’d be sending military troops to the border as soon as I could in large numbers.”
Trump tends to take the advice of Graham, so it would be no surprise to see him make an announcement in the next few days that he will be doing exactly that.
Send Them Back
Graham, like the President, is very frustrated over the border crisis.
Senator Graham can also be very direct when need be, putting political correctness on the back burner when something needs to be said.
“We need to be sending these kids back to Central America where they came from,” Graham stated.
He added, “So I’m going to put a legislative package together right after the break.
“We’re going to mark it up in the Judiciary Committee and we’re going to get on with solving this problem.
“I’ve got to get a package that will deter people from Central America from continuing to come, change our asylum laws, make sure you have more than 20 days to deal with an unaccompanied minor and send people back to Central America.”
While Graham is looking to crack down on immigration, Democrats are hoping to soften the laws.
If they had their way, everyone sitting in detention centers right now would be given $50k and a brand-new home.
The only requirement Dems seem to want to enter this country is the ability to walk across the border.
Democrats fail to acknowledge the problem with parents and human traffickers dragging children across the desert, most of them without having proper medical care in years and trying to sneak them into the country.
The politicking by Democrats over this needs to stop and they must put Americans first.
As I have stated numerous times before, getting immigration under control solves a lot of problems this country is having right now, and it is simply unbelievable liberals cannot see that.
