Texan Congressman Confronts Rep. Ilhan Omar Over Belittling 9/11 Comments

While giving a speech at the most recent Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) conference, Rep. Omar (D-Minn) stated, “CAIR was founded after 9/11 because they recognized that some people did something, and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties.”

Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX), who is also a former Navy SEAL, did not take kindly to that characterization of the events that day, and let her know it via Twitter…

Some People Did Something

“Some people” were a group of radical Muslims and that “something” was the most horrific terrorist attack on U.S. soil this country has ever seen.

That “something” also cost thousands of Americans their lives, including hundreds of first responders that ran into those building in an effort to save lives.

If there was ever a time to convince Americans she is behind America, that would have been it.

Instead, she minimized one of the most tragic events in modern history.

The Backlash

Rep. Crenshaw was not the only member of the Republican party that found fault with Omar’s statement.

GOP Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel stated, “Ilhan Omar isn’t just anti-Semitic – she’s anti-American.”

Politicians were not the only ones upset with Omar’s comments, as Americans lashed out immediately at the freshman congresswoman.

Andrew Pollack, who is the father of a Parkland High shooting victim, stated, “9/11 terrorists & the terror attacks they conducted are described as simply ‘some people did something’? Every Democrat should be asked by the media if they disavow @IlhanMN’s statements. Every one of them.”

So far, all we have heard from the Democrat party on this is crickets, though.

With all the attention Omar has had over her previously anti-Semitic comments, you would think she would be a bit more sensitive about 9/11, especially in that environment, where it came off as belittling what happened.

And to think, Fox News suspended Judge Jeanine Pirro for questioning Omar’s loyalty to this country.

The people of Minnesota should be ashamed of themselves for putting Omar into office because she clearly does not represent Americans and does not deserve to represent this nation.
