President Trump’s attitude regarding the Mueller report has changed considerably in the last few days.
Trump has switched his wrath from the Mueller team to some former associates interviewed who made some rather disparaging comments about Trump.
Those “claims” have created a considerable problem that at the very least, are creating very bad optics for Trump and the extent he was willing to go to shut down the collusion investigation.
Trump stated, “Because I never agreed to testify, it was not necessary for me to respond to statements made in the ‘Report’ about me, some of which are total bulls**t & only given to make the other person look good (or me to look bad).”
Some of the most troubling claims may also be the most unbelievable.
If Trump were giving these orders and they were not carried out, why were these individuals left in their roles?
We all know Trump has a quick trigger, so it is unlikely he would have tolerated such blatant insubordination.
This really comes down to whom everyone believes.
Trump supporters are going to continue to support Trump and anti-Trumpers will continue to assume the worst possible scenario.
The real problem for Americans is trying to figure out who is making claims for self-serving purposes.
Look no further than many of the claims made by Comey before his book was due out.
We know for a fact Comey lied and leaked classified information to the press.
Trump has gained such a reputation as a wild card, former staffers can pretty much say anything and people will buy into it.
While Trump has every right to be upset about this, he is not without blame here.
Trump’s first run of appointments was a complete disaster.
The staff came into form while Kelly was Chief of Staff and while there has still been movement since, many of the resignations were for individuals expected to leave the administration or those taking positions for the upcoming election.
It is also worth noting most mainstream media outlets ONLY cover Trump negatively, which taints the believability of Trump and enhances the claims made by the former staffers.
As I stated in a previous article, this quickly turns into a “he said, she said” scenario.
While Trump was hoping to “get back to work” now that the Mueller investigation is over, this will more than likely follow him throughout the remainder of his time in office.
As we have learned very painfully over the last two years, Democrats don’t need facts… they just need a good headline and an idea to go after the President.
